Two Well War Memorial
Two Wells War Memorial
.We were very honored to be approached by the Two Wells RSL branch in 2014 with an idea they had for their War Memorial
So began a long twelve month planning process and design. With this project being a local RSL near our home base we donated all our time as a sign of gratitude to our Diggers and the RSL supplied the material. With this project we had full creative design licence as they had seen our work from a local market stall and visited our work shop to talk more about the project and the vision they were trying to achieve. This was a lenghty process as we had to have full support of the members. Several designs were submitted for review and once we had the full support from the Two Wells RSL members we started the process of cutting and fabricating the signage and the soldiers.
There is a little back ground story to this project we would like to share. We had originally cut a Rising Sun sign with Afghanistan over the top of the Rising Sun. But last minute it was decided to remove the wording Afghanistan from the design, so we had cut it from the sign and the Plasma Art Team wasn't quite happy how the sign looked for proportion. The reason being is that we had fabricated a backing piece for lighting to reflect on at night, so the Rising Sun would of been smaller than the backing piece giving it the out of proportion look. It was then decided to cut another and the original was eventually donated kindly by the Two Wells RSL to the Coober Pedy RSL branch. They have now installed it at the front of their club rooms and it looks amazing. Photos can be seen at the end of the Two Wells pictures Below.
So with the help of the Two Wells RSL members we installed this piece right before Remembrance Day. So as you can see by the photos attached it has evolved into a wonderful place that all in the community and surrounding suburbs to enjoy for a very long time.
